Dr Alex Pilato
Chairman and Chief Executive

Alex Pilato, TradeRisks’ principal shareholder, founded the company in 2000. He was the founder of JP Morgan’s risk advisory businesses. He pioneered the development of sophisticated modelling techniques. He established a market reputation in risk management as a trusted advisor to central banks, sovereign debt agencies, ministries of finance, major corporates and financial institutions. He developed, maintained and supervised debt benchmarks for sovereign borrowers and debt agencies. He is a regular speaker on sovereign asset and liability management issues at World Bank and IMF conferences. Chairman of key industry conferences on credit and market risk, and speaker at internal seminars organised by central banks and financial regulators. After 7 years at JP Morgan, Alex moved to HSBC to lead the bank’s global risk advisory services and then to Tokai Bank Europe (TBE) as head of Capital Markets and Merchant Banking. Alex is an experienced manager of trading teams. He managed the client trading teams at TBE over a number of years which included periods of extremely volatile market conditions such as the Asian financial crisis. He was a member of TBE’s Executive, Risk and New Products Committees which were also responsible for the extensive proprietary trading activities of the bank. He has considerable experience on the totality of issues surrounding the management of proprietary trading operations, e.g. capital allocation, recruitment, traders’ compensation, risk management, compliance and regulatory issues.

Jon Slater
Chief Executive of ReSI Capital Management

Jon Slater, TradeRisks’ joint Chief Executive, joined the company in February 2011 from JP Morgan where he was Managing Director and Global Head of Structured Credit Trading, renewing a long-standing working relationship with Alex Pilato. The two previously worked together at JP Morgan from 1989, and also from 1997 at Tokai Bank Europe. Jon Slater subsequently re-joined JP Morgan in 2000 where he spent the next 11 years developing and leading its Structured Credit Trading business. Jon Slater is an experienced structured derivatives trader and has a wealth of experience on risk management, benchmarking and performance measurement. Jon is the Compliance Officer for TradeRisks Limited.

Antoine Pesenti
Senior Managing Director

Antoine Pesenti is head of Trading and Risk Management of TradeRisks. He joined TradeRisks in 2002 from the EBRD where he was responsible for the development of Monte Carlo simulation short-rate models for the risk management of government and corporate bond positions. Prior to EBRD, Antoine was responsible for the development of yield curve and derivatives pricing models and libraries at Refco, where he subsequently became in charge of the OTC Desk risk management. Before joining the City, Antoine Pesenti had a distinguished mathematics academic career in France and Italy. He was assistant professor of mathematics in Classe Préparatoire aux Grandes Ecoles, Lycée Monge, Chambéry. Antoine is Finance Director for the TradeRisks Group. He is also a board member of two charities.

Mark Rogers
Chief Executive – ReSI Housing Ltd

Mark Rogers spent 12 years as Chief Executive of Circle Housing Group, a 65,000 unit housing association now part of the Clarion Group, as well as holding Chief Executive roles at Anglia Housing Group and Nene Housing Society. He has been a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing since 1986.

Ben Fry
Managing Director

Ben Fry joined TradeRisks in 2011 from Deloitte’s business modelling team where he advised on a number of financial modelling assignments for financial services, infrastructure and media clients.
Prior to joining the modelling team, Ben qualified as a Chartered Accountant within Deloitte’s corporate audit practice where he managed audits across the media and security sectors.

Richard Stubbs
Chief Financial Officer

Richard Stubbs joined TradeRisks in 2018 from SCP where he was responsible for investor and financial reporting on c. 460 million EUR assets under management including a Luxembourg stock exchange listed fund. He has over twenty years’ experience in senior finance roles, 12 years of which were with public and private equity real estate funds. In particular he worked on Alpha Real Capital’s Index Linked, and Social Long Income, funds, as well as several listed and private Pan-European and UK commercial real estate funds and Capital & Regional’s portfolio of in-town dominant community shopping centres.

Juliet joined TradeRisks in 2018 having previously worked in Property Finance, Investment Fund, Financial Advisors and Foreign Banks.  Juliet is at ACCA Finalist level and will be looking to qualify during 2019.

Peter Redman
Managing Director – Property

Pete Redman heads TradeRisks’ Policy and Research function. He joined TradeRisks in 2013. Pete was educated at the University of Cambridge where he studied Engineering, History and Philosophy of Science. With a family background in property and house building he started as a rent collector for Islington Council, moving on to develop housing for Holloway Tenant Co-operative, and then as part of Circle 33 Housing Trust’s executive management team to build one of the country’s largest housing investment programmes.
He has been Chief Executive of Leeds Federated HA, Notting Hill Housing Group, FCH Birmingham, London’s largest ALMO Lambeth Living and responsible for the Area Management Teams of London’s largest landlord – Southwark Council, a past Chair of the London Housing Federation and of the RIBA Housing Client Forum, and is Chair of Ducane Housing Association. In all settings Pete is known as an innovative leader and has pioneered much of the policy development that shapes the social housing sector today. He continues to be a progressive force within housing policy research whether it is for housing clients, think tanks or academia.

Howard Toplis

Howard Toplis spent 5 years as group chief executive of GreenSquare Housing Group, a 12,000 unit housing association.  Prior to that, he was Chief Executive at Tor Homes, a housing association in south Devon.  In the past, he has also served as a board member on two housing association boards.  He started his housing career as treasury manager at the Devon & Cornwall Housing group.  Howard is also a chartered accountant, qualifying with Ernst & Young.

Michael Woodman
Legal Counsel

Michael joined TradeRisks in 2012. He is a qualified solicitor, having trained at Sidley Austin LLP in London. At Sidley, Michael practised in the Debt Capital Markets department in which he advised clients on a range of capital markets and banking transactions, which included issues of Regulation S and Rule 144A debt securities, updates of EMTN and MTN programmes and updates of revolving loan facilities.
In addition, Michael has considerable commercial experience, having worked in-house for the Organising Committee for the London 2012 Games. Michael is Company Secretary for the TradeRisks Group.

Gourav Choudhary

Gourav joined TradeRisks in 2018.  Gourav previously worked at Arcus Infrastructure Partners focusing on investing in the infrastructure sector.  Gourav has a number of years of experience in corporate finance advisory and principal investments in the UK and continental Europe where he successfully raised bank finance in excess of £1.6bn on completed transactions.

Galen Moore

Galen Moore joins TradeRisks as the Chief of Staff. The new role reports directly to the TradeRisks Group Chief Executive and has been put in place to further strengthen operational management and process, bringing the skills needed to ensure that the governance, culture and development of our people and organisation are aligned as we scale up. Galen spent the last 14 years working in family offices and fund managers with roles at Rianta Capital, TCI Fund Management and most recently Nyland.

Oliver Baldwin

Oliver joined TradeRisks in November 2018 from Inspired Asset Management where he was Head of Acquisitions. He previously headed a team of four running the analysis and deal origination of new real estate development and investment opportunities up to acquisition values of £250m. Oliver focuses on developing new and maintaining existing relationships as well as the financial modelling of new acquisitions for ReSI.
