TradeRisks recruits senior pensions expertise to access new investors

TradeRisks further expands its reach and product range with the appointment of Jeff Hunt, a senior actuary with 20 years’ experience in advising corporates and trustees on pensions risk management.

“We see enormous potential for pension schemes and insurance companies to access mutually attractive funding and hedging transactions with our corporate clients. Jeff’s recruitment is a key development in this exciting area of our business. ” said Alex Pilato, Chief Executive of TradeRisks.

“In particular, we see pension schemes increasingly looking outside of the traditional mix of equities and gilts in order to address their deficits and reduce funding level volatility. At the same time, our corporate clients are highly rated entities who can issue bonds which allow pension schemes to achieve cashflow matching of longer duration liabilities with returns materially in excess of gilts.”

Jeff joins TradeRisks from KPMG, where he led the rapid expansion of the London pensions team and the development of a number of innovative de-risking solutions. Jeff started his career at Watson Wyatt before moving to Punter Southall where he set up their transaction services division.
