Watford Community Housing Trust secures £40 million of new funding from Barclays

Watford Community Housing Trust has secured £40 million of new funding from their existing lender, Barclays, to support their growth plans and enable them to continue investing in their local communities.

The extra £40m medium term funding will assist the Trust in achieving its strategic goal of building 500 new homes in Watford and Three Rivers by 2017.

Julie Robinson, the Trust’s Director of Resources, said: “We are  really pleased to have concluded these negotiations and secured the £40m to build much needed homes in Watford and Three Rivers”

Elizabeth Snape, Director at TradeRisks, who advised the Trust on the deal, said “We are delighted that we were able to work with the Trust to gain access to this additional funding. The additional £40m will support the Trust through the next stage in its growth, and demonstrates that there is still some appetite from banks to provide new funding to the sector, particularly where there is already an existing relationship in place”
